Account Executive, Promotions

Octagon is the premier global sports and entertainment marketing division of The Interpublic Group of Companies, one of the world's largest advertising and marketing communications groups.

Octagon's Norwalk, CT office is seeking an Account Executive. The principle responsibility of this position is to work on promotion activations for assigned Octagon clients. Assignments may include: Strategizing on appropriate promotion ideas, partnerships/sponsorships for clients, promotion plan execution, research and procurement of appropriate venues or partnerships, set up and execution of client's presence at events, set up and execution of client's product sampling at venues or events, set up and execution of mobile marketing tours and media relations as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop work plan and time line for each project/assignment, ensuring all deadlines are met; Negotiate with existing events or venues for client presence and marketing activities; Manage all program logistics and ensure execution of programs as contracted with client Act as liaison with clients on project execution, ensuring client's communication needs are met Develop creative briefs and guidelines as projects require; ensure client deliverables are met Potential management of Limited Term Employees Maintain budgets and costs on each project/assignment, alerting management of variations Other reasonably-related duties as required

Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field and 1-3 years professional experience in marketing or events Excellent organization skills and attention to detail; Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to work independently as well as within a team; self-starter; Willingness to travel and work on weekends a must; Working knowledge of PC Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
