Account Executive - Public Relations and Public Affairs

SS+K (www.ssk.com) seeks a creative, energetic, media-savvy, motivated public relations professional to join its New York staff.  As a creatively-driven communications and marketing company, we work with a wide range of corporations, brands, non-profit organizations, trade associations and others to develop big, bold ideas that get attention - ideas that pierce cultural static, competitive clutter and consumer indifference.  The ideal person for this position should be able to think outside the box and contribute to the development and execution of big ideas.  They should have good media relations skills, assist in account management, and generate client-ready documents, including strategy memos and news releases. For this position, a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience at a PR firm or in a corporate or non-profit PR department is necessary.





Core Responsibilities

 

The account executive will be expected to--Manage account projects, including drafting PR documents, managing vendor relationships and coordinating with in-house production teams; and managing project timelines and participating in client calls + meetings, when appropriate. Assist in the development of media relations strategy and execution, including pitching stories on a wide variety of issues to a broad group of media, responding to and managing inquiries from news organizations, and managing media events. Move easily among different types of public relations campaigns – from brand + consumer PR to issues advocacy to corporate strategy + positioning.
