Purpose:

This position is accountable for teaming with field Sales Executives to meet or exceed the retention and profitable revenue growth objectives for a specific list of target accounts and prospects. This will be accomplished through assistance in selling targeted advertising programs to new prospects and servicing and growing the business of existing customers. In addition, this includes participation in strategic development, tactical implementation, first point of client contact, problem solving and comprehensive, and strategic account management to free reps from these tasks to increase strategic selling activity.

Responsibilities:

1. Act as full business partner with the sales organization to manage client-advertising programs in alignment with the customers' goals and the strategy for the region or company.

2. Manage day-to-day activities of assigned accounts.

3. Develop and maintain open communication with various levels in clients' organization and provide ongoing feedback to the sales team. Be established as primary contact for all assigned client decision-makers.

4. Continually educate clients and prospects on Valassis and the direct mail industry, including the communication of new products and promotions.

Minimum Requirements:

- Sales/Marketing background with experience in developing and executing solid account management strategies with clients.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- 2 Years successful sales experience with strong selling skills

- PC Literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), GroupWise, Oracle

- Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills

- Excellent cross functional team skills

- Excellent problem-solving and innovative decision making skills
