Position Description:

 

The Account Manager manages NPD's relationship with publishers and manufacturers in the Software Industry, such as Microsoft, Symantec, CA, Inc., Trend Micro, Adobe, etc.  He/She is also accountable for client revenue and retention.

 

This position is open to location in the following NPD offices: Port Washington, NY and/or New York City.

 



Overall Responsibilities: Servicing and developing all Software clients, including developing detailed client plans for assigned accounts; understanding the client’s organization, internal objectives and business issues; and recognizing data inconsistencies and analytic possibilities for the Software industry; and preparing and presenting sales, training, and data presentations to clients.  Growing revenue of the accounts as well as identifying new business opportunities within the given budget structure. Ensuring overall client satisfaction with service, data application and deliverables by managing client relationships to build a reputation for excellent service and generate repeat business. Building strong, ongoing relationships with all levels of management at accounts through meetings, continual phone conversations, state of the industry presentations, and other value added deliverables. Evaluating how NPD’s products and services can address client’s key business issues by working with the client contact, senior management, and appropriate internal teams to develop or market products to address these issues.

Qualifications: 3-6 years experience in client servicing, market research or equivalent.  Category management experience preferred.  Applied industry and client knowledge.  Strong POS/consumer research knowledge.  Manages own projects to completion. Self-motivated.  Applies selling skills to existing clients. Exposure to contract negotiations.  Well versed in all BU methodologies or research methodologies.  Strong in all MS Office products (Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Willingness to travel (typically 20%).  BA/BS or equivalent.
