Job Description:  Account Representative – Outside

Yellow Pages Advertising Sales

 

The Account Representative Outside Yellow Pages Advertising Sales is responsible for preparing for and meeting and/or exceeding all sales quotas, setting up appointments, managing an even flow of accounts and territory assignments in all canvasses to meet the deadlines provided by production.  Establish rapport with customer base and comply with all company guidelines, practices and procedures when selling our products.

 

The Account Representative Outside Yellow Pages Advertising Sales will be expected to plan and prepare for sales calls.  This will include researching accounts, setting appointments, preparing advertising recommendations, traveling within the canvass/market area and doing so while correctly submitting the final paperwork for each account on a daily basis.

 

The Account Representative Outside Yellow Pages Advertising Sales will spend over half of his/her time in front of the customer making presentations, doing the necessary paperwork to report the accounts and follow up with the Sales Support and the customer to ensure that paperwork is error free and on time work is submitted.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

1.)  Must be creative

2.)  Must be persuasive

3.)  Must have people skills

4.)  Must have consultative/customer service oriented approach

5.)  Must be willing to travel 50-70%

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

 

Experience:

3 – 5 years outside sales experience

Directory knowledge preferred

 

POSITION CONSISTS OF SALARY PLUS COMMISSION.REPRESENTATIVES CAN EARN MORE OR LESS DEPENDING ON PERFORMANCE.

Job Functions:

4.)  Establishing rapport with customer base

5.)  Comply with all company guidelines, practices and procedures when selling products

6.)  Plan and prepare for sales calls – this includes researching accounts, setting appointments, preparing advertising recommendations and correctly submitting the final paperwork for each account on a daily basis

7.)  Spend over ½ of his/her time on the phone with the customer making presentations

8.)  Completing necessary paperwork to report the accounts

9.)  Follow up with Sales Support and the customer to ensure that free and on time work submitted
