This position will be a key role is our Strategy and Planning department. The role requires incumbents to be responsbile for developing and implementing strategies (in collaboration with other team members) for the agency’s existing clients and new clients based upon the clients’ business need and market situation. The Account Strategist manages and directs, in collaboration with other team members, the “on-boarding” process for new accounts to ensure full strategy definition and strategy adherence. Builds upon client relationships to ensure satisfaction for current and on-going programs while creating a disposition for future projects.
· Primary Responsibilities: Development of strategic marketing programs and documentation, planning for future projects, development and presentation of strategic presentations, team facilitation, client contact, client relationship building, client development and strategic support of new business efforts.
· Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Experience in direct mail, email, interactive and/or database marketing experience, CRM or 1 to 1 marketing strategy and implementation experience, client relationship management skills, program development and proposal writing skills, strategic planning skills, understanding of digital printing, digital technology and direct mail production, experience working in a team environment, including with technical team members, leadership skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize well, strong communication skills, problem-solving skills, ability to quickly resolve issues, ability to interpret situations beyond general knowledge, long-term thinking and planning abilities.
Job Specification:
· Degree of Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field; Master’s Degree desirable.
· Previous Experience: 7+ years experience working in Strategy or Account Services for an Advertising or Marketing firm, extensive experience developing marketing strategies and plans.
Tasks Solely Responsible For:
· Responsible for account strategies with existing accounts and participation in the formulation of account strategies for new accounts.
· Responsible for developing a measurement plan for each client program, monitoring results and refining strategy.
· Responsible for managing and directing the new client on-boarding process, in conjunction with other team members.
· Responsible for managing client expectations and client satisfaction related to overall strategy in collaboration with Client Services staff.
· Consults where applicable with internal Creative, Technology, Project Management, Program Management, Business Development and Client Services team members to ensure client objectives are clearly understood and to develop strategic solutions.
· Where appropriate, facilitates issue resolution with clients.
· Projects personable, professional image.
· Communicates directly with clients and client technical teams.
· Reviews creative and other staff work to ensure it accurately reflects program strategy and objectives prior to submission to client.
