Account Supervisor, Web Designer/Developer - Kansas City

Responsibilities • Work with other Web designers and developers, then support the department Project Manager to help traditional communications teams define project needs and deliver superior technical solutions for Web sites, Web graphics, online display ads/banners, digital games and widgets, CD & DVD applications, and more. • Once the final concept is selected, handle full implementation, including providing direction to and managing deliverables of contract programmers as needed. • Take initiative to research and learn new technologies and recommend new design and development methods that enhance the company’s core offerings. • Special emphasis: Ability to direct others, and personally deliver fully tested, functioning, animated applications using tools such as Flash, Action Script, and AutoPlay. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with strong digital design emphasis, or related field. • Must possess three or more years of experience, with intermediate-to-advanced skills in Web development technologies (Action Script, HTML, CSS, JavaScript). • Must have excellent communication skills, with particularly strong listening and ‘translation’ skills. Must be comfortable sharing technical expertise with individuals at all levels of the organization. • Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks on time and within budget. • Important: Must be comfortable working in an iterative team environment, presenting to business leaders, and leading problem solving sessions involving non-technical teammates. • Must exhibit strong attention to detail, and thorough documentation skills. • Must display an advanced knowledge of Web development tools including Macromedia Flash, Dream Weaver, with working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Fireworks, etc. • Experience with FTP and source control software and video streaming required. • Cold Fusion experience a plus. • Must be comfortable developing and testing for current Web browsers. • Must be comfortable with standard communications consulting — Discovery, Design, Implement, Test — with experience translating client needs, goals and requirements into strong application and information designs. • Knowledge of standard Web optimization techniques required. • Must be able to understand and create interactive site maps, wire frames, flow charts, and diagrams. • Should have excellent overall digital development skills and be able to appropriately select the right tools to address specific technical challenges. • Must possess strong analytical skills, and be comfortable providing direction to programmers. An understanding of standard Web operational processes and systems a must. • Experience with Microsoft SQL database, ASP, and NET 1.1 or higher preferred. • Requires the ability to multi-task, with excellent time management and organizational skills. Currently, FH uses the following tools: • Illustrator CS2, Photoshop CS2, Dreamweaver 8, HTML CSS, Actionscript 2, Javascript, and PowerPoint.
