Actuarial Director

Actuarial Director opening in New Jersey/New York or Connecticut. Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a risk measurement framework for Individual Annuity (IA) business. This includes being the lead for IA on a company wide project to develop and implement an Economic Capital framework for all business units. Other views of risk assessment that IA is interested in exploring includes; developing a Statutory and GAAP framework that is parallel to the Economic Capital framework. This position will also be responsible for defining, implementing, and managing these initiatives. The above initiatives will include not only the Variable Annuity benefits that are hedged but also the hedge assets. Thus, providing an interesting opportunity to thoroughly understand hedge program, the underlying hedge assets, and to work closely with derivatives group. This position requires an individual with both strong modeling and project management skills that is able to lead projects with little guidance. Actuarial-related programming and modeling expertise is required; strong quantitative and analytical skills; Prior experience with TAS, MoSes, MG-ALFA or similar financial modeling software is strongly desired, must be willing to quickly develop in-depth knowledge of annuity product designs and optional benefit features as well as capital market instruments (options, swaps, futures, etc.) and hedging concepts; prior variable and fixed annuity experience is desired. FSA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent is preferred. Salary $open.
