 Experience Requirements

BA degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience

1-3 years graphic design industry experience

Portfolio demonstrating creativity and skill relative to experience

 

Job Skills & Traits

Organization, communication, time management skills required

Ability to work closely and effectively with other members of design group and clients

Require moderate level of supervision; works under the direction of Senior Designer

Proficient with Mac software: Freehand, Photoshop, QuarkXPress (Illustrator and Pagemaker is also preferred)

Proficient with standard Mac hardware systems:

(G3 or above, scanners, color printers, electronic communication/methods of transfer)

Knowledge of the Internet preferred

Maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality

Flexible; works well with change in a face-paced environment

Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting

with BD&A employees, outside vendors and clients

Exhibits high level of customer service to ensure smooth operations and satisfied customers/clients

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Contribute as a member of the CPD design team under the direction of the Senior Designer; primarily responsible for design and project stewardship.

Creative Responsibilities:

Work closely with Senior Designer to ensure overall creative vision and

standards are consistent with the goals of BD&A.

Participate in the development of creative direction for specific

projects so that client objectives are successfully met.

Develop design solutions that demonstrate creative excellence

for all phases of the design process (from concept to final execution).

Responsible for design, production, final approvals, QC checklist

and post-production issues when necessary.

Uphold the creative mission and standards of both the department and BD&A,

as set forth by CPD and BD&A management.

Departmental Responsibilities:

Responsible for various non-design related tasks

(file maintenance, archiving, supply management, systems administration, etc.).

Project Management:

Manage workflow as directed by Senior Designer.

Assist Senior Designer in development of project schedules to ensure they

are completed within budget and on time.

Ensure that all work maintains the high quality standards demanded by BD&A and its clients.

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients (internal and external) and vendors to ensure the level of service quality always exceeds expectations.

Other job duties and projects as assigned.
