Company: Whole Foods Market Status: Full Time, Employee Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Location: US-MI-Ann Arbor Job Category: Marketing/Product Job Description We are currently seeking an effective candidate to initiate and supervise Marketing efforts in the Ann Arbor, Michigan Metro Area.This position is a dual report to the Metro area Store Team Leaders and the Regional Associate Marketing Coordinator. This position involves marketing for all Metro area stores to help successfully achieve store sales goals, which include increasing transaction counts and average basket size. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Create and execute a strategic marketing plan with the direction of regional leadership and approval of store leadership that targets the trade areas around all Metro area stores. 2. Develop marketing, community outreach and partnership programs to generate awareness in the community, increase sales, customer count, and basket size and build the brand. 3. Develop event marketing and cause marketing initiatives that fit with Whole Foods Market's Core Values. 4. Supervise and provide strategic direction to In-store Marketing Specialist and assist in planning and execution of in-store activities as needed. 5. Manage and oversee marketing and donations budgets for Metro area stores. 6. Organize quarterly Community Support Days and execute promotional plan in a manner designed to leverage the joint donations of both locations. 7. Help coordinate in-store calendar of events for both stores. 8. Ensure the proper execution of regional and local programs in the stores. 9. Generate media exposure through public relations activities and act as spokesperson, when appropriate. 10. Assist Associate Marketing Coordinator with media planning and placement. 11. Work closely with in-store artists to create signage and promotional materials for store-specific marketing needs. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Computer knowledge on Microsoft Excel and Word programs. Creative and detail oriented. At least 3 years previous marketing experience, preferably in the retail or natural foods industry. Experience developing a strategic marketing plan. Experience managing a budget. Outgoing personality and excellent communications skills. Positive "can-do" attitude. Knowledge of natural foods industry. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently yet work well in a group environment and be a team player. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
