This role requires a strong hands-on Designer who can manage supporting all internal clients and initiatives. Also important is proven experience managing a team of Designers and Production Artists. This role works closely with internal creative support, such as Photographers and Copywriters. Additionally, this role acts as the primary interaction with internal client contacts, translating client requests and needs to the team. The Art Director serves as mentor for the staff and freelance designers by providing guidance in regards to the strategic mission of the department. Specific projects include: publications, advertising, signage, electronic media (email campaigns, etc.) and annual report.Client Description: This department is high energy, highly professional and looks to this position to be a problem solver.Other Requirements: 8-12 yrs design and art direction experience, 5 yrs supervisory experience. Must have a sophisticated sense of design, photography and typography. Must have understanding of marketing principals and use of market research.
