TechTarget is seeking an Associate Site Editor for the CIO Media Group. This is a multi-faceted job with editorial responsibilities for SearchCIO.com, including:

 writing articles,assembling story packages,assisting with email newsletters, new media (podcasts, webcasts, videocasts, blogs, etc.), speaker and source development, and primary research on a range of IT strategy, management and technology issues.



The ideal candidate will have experience as a writer or editor, familiarity with website production systems, professionalism to interact with an executive-level audience, and enthusiasm to embrace the challenges of a fast-paced group with an aggressive growth plan.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 Work with Site Editor to execute on site’s editorial strategy;Research and report on key topics;Participate in creating and assembling story packages such as “all in one guides”;Edit content from outside contributors;Recruit speakers for webcasts/podcasts/videocasts and moderate webcasts/podcasts/videocasts;Research reader interest through traffic analysis and surveys; Write compelling content summaries and promotions for email newsletters; Manage relationships with readers and outside experts; Generate and/or review email newsletters;  Participate actively in team meetings;Creatively develop new content vehicles, including new media formats; Contribute to cross-group initiatives and meetings of associate/site editors. 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

 Two to four years experience writing and/or editing computer technology topics; Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or other relevant course of study;Strong writing, editing and verbal skills, including copyediting and proofreading;Familiarity with website production and tracking systems such as CMA, TargetMail, e-gen and Hitbox;Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team;Ability to meet deadlines; High energy and self-motivation; and, Willingness to travel occasionally
