Catalog Merchandiser

 

Position:

Catalog Merchandiser – Reports to Marketing Manager

 

Summary:

The principal responsibility of the catalog merchandiser is to intimately know our customer base and apply that knowledge to best market our products.  A critical component of this position is in maintaining multiple levels of customer contact, including onsite contact, in-bounding, out-bounding, and any other form of communication required in understanding the industry, customer preferences and product uses. With this customer knowledge the catalog merchandiser will insure that all catalog titles in which they are assigned are executed according to agreed upon plans.

 

  With insight into customers, the marketing merchandiser will be responsible for managing product categories and determine the products that will produce our greatest return. This position works directly with the automotive marketing team to provide analytical support, coordinate pagination, and function as the lead merchant for assigned product categories.  He/she will develop catalog covers, feature pages, inserts, and promotions, as well as track and document the performance of these efforts.

 

This position will be responsible for researching new products based on customer contacts and data received from customers. The catalog merchandiser is responsible for managing multiple communications with other departments in the research, development, production, and marketing of products.

 

The Catalog Merchandiser works with the Marketing Manager to insure that schedules and team deadlines are met, and to provide consistency across all channels for which they are responsible.

 

Responsibilities include the extraction of data and development of analyses for product, page, and cover level performance to drive future efforts. 

 

Required Skills:

- Experience in the Automotive Dealership Industry (5 years or more). Reynolds and Reynolds experience or familiarity very helpful

- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.  Needs to be comfortable contacting customers on a regular basis.

- Computer-literacy, with strong skills in Excel.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and apply it to marketing efforts.
