Business Manager / Event Local Marketing

In order to help prepare retail leaders for the complexity and velocity of our our high-performance field culture, we've developed the Business Manager role. Position is locally based in the DC metro area and no relocation is offered at this time.This Business Manager is specifically intended to focus on local marketing initiatives (ex: Redskins partnership, Home & Garden Show, and Live Nation), but is subject to change as described below. Responsible for planning, strategizing and implementation of new growth initiatives to the field, lead complex rollouts and contribute to the business while also sharpening their individual skills through continued involvement in management training programs. Business Managers are required to be knowledgeable in their assigned scope of responsibility in order to successfully influence, evaluate, plan and implement changes, solutions and strategies that lead to the completion of their assignments and profitable growth. Business Managers are deployed against special assignments and work as prescribed by local leadership (i.e. TGM). These assignments can range from 30 days to 12 months. The Business Manager role is designed to enable and support leaders in learning our organization and culture at a broader level. By supporting the Territory (sometimes called a "Region" in other companies) through special project work assigned by the Territory Vice President, Business Managers receive an opportunity to use their skills and knowledge to address specific business needs, innovate, and build a network of resources at the local, District, Territory and corporate levels within Best Buy. We believe this exposure and visibility to be key to moving into future single and mulit-unit retail leadership roles here at Best Buy.QualificationsIdeal candidate will be highly organized and have demonstrated successes in events planning. Ability to build a network and develop new and existing relationships is highly preferred.
