KYOCERA AMERICA INC.Kyocera America, Inc., is a world leader in the manufacture of microelectronic packages for the microelectronic industry. We are located in San Diego, California with ten sales offices throughout the United States. Business Unit Manager Kyocera America, Inc. works heavily with sister-company Kyocera Mexicana, Inc. in Tijuana, Mexico, for products related to our Communications Device Group. This position will involve regular travel to and from the facility in Tijuana.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Responsible for the management of assigned multi-functional production unit, department, or group. • Direct P/L and operational performance responsibilities for a product line.• Directs activities through subordinate managers or supervisors to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements. • Reviews and establishes material, equipment, and staffing requirements. • Develops and establishes departmental standards and practices. • Coordinates production activities with other functions such as material, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, inspection and the like. • Responsible for the employment, training, employee motivation, counseling and discipline of employees assigned. • Responsible for communication with sales, coordinate activities within department/division to support customers• Overall responsibilities may include production related activities such as material planning/control, manufacturing, engineering, facilities maintenance, P&L responsibilities.• Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:• BS Engineering Degree and MBA preferred• Requires min. 5 years experience in a related management role • Must have management experience in a technical product line with P/L responsibilities.•Prefer candidates with Maquila industry experience or in a cross border organizational strucutre.If you are interested in this position, please email your resume and cover letter to kai.hr@kyocera.com Be sure to reference Job posting # 08-012 in the subject lineEOE
