Canadian Media Buyer

Position Overview:

The buyer will be part of an in-house TV media buying team. The successful candidate will have proven abilities to negotiate buys, have extensive industry experience and contacts.This is a fast-paced environment, where the candidate must be able to use judgment when necessary, and be adaptable to change.

Responsibilities: Review and negotiate TV media in the Canadian Marketplace that delivers results in line with financial guidelinesIdentify and create new media opportunities to expand the current Canadian marketplace Present media options and recommendations to various departments on a timely basisInteract with outside agencies to ensure goals and objectives are being met. Negotiate contracts, rates and cost cutting venturesInteract with stations, brokers and station representativesAnalyze results on a daily basis and recommend next stepsAct as liaison with other departments; communicate key strategies

Qualifications8-10+ years of longform buying experienceProven ability to negotiate; solid industry reputationPrior management experience (agency or in-house) Some travel involvedAbility to communicate with senior management
