Claims Adjuster

Claims Adjuster opening on Long Island for Major Insurance Carrier. Investigate, make coverage determination, prepare complete scope and adjust to disposition personal and commercial lines property losses. Position requires extensive personal contact with insureds, their legal representatives and customer agents. Occasional contact with law enforcement officials may be required. Operate on an independent basis with limited supervision in handling/settling a high volume of claims with assigned authority. Submit reports within specified time frames as required by the Claims Technical Manual or as required by Supervisor or Manager. Perform other tasks as assigned. Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required. At least 3 years of Property Field Adjusting experience and involvement in or in pursuit of AIC or other acceptable claims coursework is necessary. Excellent verbal and written skills as well as strong organizational and decision-making skills are essential. Travel is required. The position requires the selected candidate to be available for night, weekends and/or extended Catastrophe work when necessary. Valid drivers license and safe-driving record are required. Salary up to $75k.
