Classified Sales Manager

Leading B2B central-NJ weekly newspaper seeking a competitive and motivated classified manager to lead the 3-person department and grow it. This individual will direct sales, and manage own accounts. He/she will develop and manage the classified advertising, and produce a strategy to capitalize on all categories. He/she needs to have a passion for detail, be organized and have the ability to motivate and coach sales representatives to monetize every sales opportunity.

 

Daily responsibilities:

  Direct the staffing, training, and performance evaluations of reps and control all sales programs Develop and deliver sales presentations to major advertisers in coordination with sales representatives Lead sales forecasting and set performance goals accordingly Create presentations and packages that sell across platforms into other products — newsletter banners and website Establish territories and quotas Prepare sales reports as needed Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition Review market and analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, discount rates and trends in various verticals.

 

Qualifications:

  Minimum 5 years direct classified sales experience Experience managing a small classified department Strong computer skills Good prospecting skills

Previous experience using classified systems such as Brainwork’s, APT, Falcon or any other classified system



Compensation:

 

We offer a generous base and high incentive program. Earning potential is unlimited for highly motivated person who can deliver 70K + . The benefit program includes health and life insurance, 401K and pension, optional dental & vision program.
