Working with the director of communications, the Communications Specialist will be involved on a daily basis with planning, coordination and traffic management of various projects, writing press releases, position papers, and media message point, as well as writing and editing articles for the training community. This individual will interact with staff within the organization while managing projects and writing assignments.

 

Specific skills required: Exceptional writing skills, particularly in the areas of press releases, position papers, and proactive communication. An understanding and interest in motorcycles. Knowledge or experience in rider safety education and training is a plus Excellent multi-tasking skills, the ability to manage several concurrent projects including coordinating staff at all levelsAttentive to detail and follow-through. Can work well under and meet tight deadlinesA team-oriented, self-starter with strong interpersonal skillsMedia or client relations experience

Additional skills, abilities, and experience of value:

 

–  Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, journalism, or business

–  Demonstration of excellent writing skills. Speed and effective, proper use and application of the language under deadline

–  Superior organizational and facilitation skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

–  Experience with production of collateral materials and external communication including position papers, product and promotional material, brochures, and content management for the web site and electronic newsletters

–  Ability to effectively work with executive teams and multidisciplinary groups, and demonstrated proficiency in building consensus and productively interacting with all staff levels

–  Communications experience within the motorcycle industry

–  Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite

–  Some travel is required
