Controller, Newspaper Americas

The Economist Group owns, manages and develops global media brands aimed at an audience of international business people and decision-makers. It is the leading source of analysis on international business and world affairs, delivering its information through a range of formats from newspapers and magazines to conferences and electronic services.

The Controller, Newspaper Americas is responsible for accounting and reporting Newspaper Americas results and activities, maintaining a strong internal control system and implementing accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:BA/BS in accounting/finance Professionally qualified accountant preferred 3 years of public accounting and at least 5 years corporate experience at the senior management accountant/ asst. controller level. Previous publishing experience a plus Experience working across the globe and with diversified teams Strong understanding of accounting principles and policies Must have recent and advanced Excel skills Knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus Clear thinking, practical, resilient and persuasive Clear communicator Strong people management skills Consensus builder Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines Strong emphasis on detail, quality and accuracy as to departmental output.
