The Marketing Events Manager will help develop and implement an event marketing program designed to further IRI’s leadership position in the marketplace by improving our name recognition and perception by current and prospective customers. The person is responsible for coordinating, planning, and implementing all aspects of trade shows, customer events and seminars. This is a highly visible position both externally and internally and the individual must have executed successful user group events for 1500+ people as well as successfully managed outside agencies for excellence in execution while ensuring optimum cost management.In this excellent opportunity, you will: Work closely with Marketing leadership team to lead development of roadmap for creative, overarching annual tradeshow/events program. Manage all tradeshow and customer event planning and logistics from beginning to end with minimal supervision. (Exhibit sizes range from tabletops to 20 x 20 ft. booths to an annual customer event hosting 1,500 attendees.) Coordinate all tradeshow participation including booth layout designs, signage and content strategy, ordering of show services, and acquiring quotes for new exhibitory. Manage all logistics including accommodations, meeting room layouts, transportation, catering and other on-site services, offsite social functions, literature, and technical services. Determine the appropriate event communications vehicles including internal and external marketing communications and as well as brand communications to support event success. Work closely with sales and product management in coordinating both content requirements and lead support. Write supporting event content (signage, brochures, e-mails, invitations, etc.) Identify, evaluate, negotiate and retain external vendors and representatives to support tradeshow and meeting execution. Conduct pre-planning meetings to develop timeline, content, attendee lists, theme, and all logistics. Manage events budget of all trade shows, meetings and related activities. Identify optimal, cost effective use of booth properties (most owned; some rented). Provide analysis and written summaries evaluating tradeshows and meetings’ success and future opportunities for improvement. Provide thoughtful perspective on evaluating tradeshow and meeting options, venues and entertainment, including 3rd party research and trend information when applicable. Orchestrate and guide efforts of numerous contributors and departments.A successful candidate will possess: 7- 10 year’s practical event marketing experience, preferably in a B2B environment. High-tech, IT or consumer packaged goods experience a bonus. BA or BS in Marketing or other communications-related discipline. Proven copy writing, editing and project coordination skills are mandatory, as are strong communication, aesthetic and creative, analytical, and process skills. Proven ability to deliver objectives within budgetary boundaries. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with attention to detail. Professional demeanor; team player orientation. Ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels. Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter. Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
