Daily Aztec Graphics Specialist
The Daily Aztec is an independent student newspaper at San Diego State University. The Graphics Specialist coordinates the design, production and scheduling of display advertisements for The Daily Aztec and assists with the planning of all aspects of Daily Aztec advertising campaigns. The Graphics Specialist also develops promotional copy as needed and provides text, photo and graphics changes to the Daily Aztec and Associated Students website.
The qualified candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent. A certificate from an accredited Graphics Vocational program or an AA degree from an accredited Community College is preferred. Two years of experience in the performance of print production work and a minimum of one year of experience in newspaper or tabloid design and production is preferred. Thorough knowledge of the most up-to-date graphic production methods and design concepts including working knowledge of QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver or other related software on a MAC platform is required. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge of website structure and have the ability to create and maintain web pages.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $16.75-$23.45/hr. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
