Position Description: Desktop/Applications Manager

This person would be responsible for the management of our sales desktop/laptop applications across the U.S. and other International sites. The candidate should come from a fast paced, sales-focused environment with proven experience in mobilizing field sales personnel. This is a hands-on position managing a small team, with the expectation of growing this team as our business continues to grow.

Responsibilities include:Advising on and managing software licensing of various sales-related technologies like salesforce.com, CRM clients, etc.Develop documentation and guidelines on the rollout of new applications and systems across the enterprise.Develop a support structure/organization for handling technical issues around hardware and software encountered by our highly mobile sales force. Establishing guidelines for desktop support, documenting helpdesk escalation processes as well as training/cross training of personnel.Manage the rollout of solutions as we add new local offices across the US and abroad.Design and manage the infrastructure required to periodically upgrade or add to our current client platform.Work with internal groups in establishing a computer usage policy and manage the enforcement of these policies on our desktops/laptops.Interface with corporate IT teams to ensure the compatibility and effectiveness of our server-side architecture when it requires interaction on the client.Ensuring the quality and consistency of all products and services delivered.

 

RequirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMinimum of five years experience in desktop and/or client applications support and managementWindows Scripting proficiency is a MUSTProven experience managing a Windows XP based desktop environmentExperience with Windows Vista a plusExperience with Linux Server environments a plus
