Digital Savvy Business Director Retail Strategy Enthusiast

R/GA seeks an energetic, experienced and digital-savvy business director to help develop our new retail experience practice, and provide strategic leadership for a growing unit of a major account. Thorough knowledge of retail experience strategy, in-store merchandising, design, research and metrics is essential. Experience with interactive touch-screens and signage is a plus, but enthusiasm for digital channels is a must (including web, mobile).

 

Your partners will include:

·  A veteran creative director and developer with 10+ years experience with touchscreens, signage and related applications for stores, museums and other installations

·  A veteran Group Director leading an account for a major telecommunications client (which is placing an increasing emphasis on innovative, interactive retail experiences)

 

 

The bulk of your time will be dedicated to cultivating and expanding relationships with existing clients; the remainder (~25%) leading efforts to identify, pursue and obtain new business for the retail practice.

 

Responsibilities

-  Responsible for overall account leadership, developing executive level relationships that positions R/GA as a strategic advisor and overseeing all producers and teams from beginning to end of each engagement’s life cycle.

-  Oversee multimillion dollar client relationship(s) with responsibility for account growth, staffing, client satisfaction, prioritization of all deliverables and ensuring quality of work meets agency standards and client objectives

-  Develop an engagement strategy and work with the team and discipline leads to execute it, involving people at the optimal levels for project success and overall account utilization (goals, deliverables, schedule, budget, resources)

-  Manage account P&L by negotiating statements of work, making sure work is delivered on budget, and invoicing clients according to the proper terms.

-  Manage $5-10 mm/year in revenue

-  Participate in strategic development of new business

-  Lead the training/mentoring of producers and associate producers on R/GA methodology and PM skills

-  Resolve team conflicts

-  Must have strong presentation, verbal and written skills.

-  Can think quickly under pressure, as well as motivate and engage the team to produce the best possible results

 

Knowledge / Experience / Ability

-  7 to 10 years in the industry or related experience, developing interactive projects and managing large creative team and clients

-  Demonstrated experience running large engagements with Fortune 500 clients or equivalent experience

-  Experience with various projects types, including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting

-  Develop relationships with clients (from project administrators to CEOs) through gaining trust and successful delivery

-  Manage large interdisciplinary teams of more than 15 people

-  Proven experience managing multi-million dollar accounts successfully

-  Ability to define solutions that will generate measurable results for the client

-  Excellent negotiation skills (especially contract negotiations) with both clients and partners

-  Excellent leadership and communication skills

-  Deep understanding of project management, work flow and infrastructure

-  Strong knowledge of web development technologies.  Knowledge of quality assurance process is required

 

You will report to our SVP Managing Director, Production.
