Director of Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability


Location:  VHA, Corporate Headquarters - Irving, TX


 


The Director of Corporate Citizenship & Sustainability reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications. This position is responsible for elevating the company’s profile as a leading corporate citizen, developing corporate citizenship strategy, and coordinating and driving VHA’s corporate citizenship efforts across the family of companies. The director interacts with senior management and employees at all levels, and works across major business divisions. The director also serves as the company’s primary corporate citizenship contact for external organizations.


Specific responsibilities include:

Developing and driving implementation of VHA’s corporate citizenship strategy to position the company as a leader in its industry, including placement on competitive rankings and achieving corporate citizenship designations. Facilitating and supporting the activities of VHA’s Corporate Citizenship Work Group, which includes leaders and representatives in key areas across the companies (Communications, Community Relations, Ethics and Compliance, Governance, Marketing, Supplier Relations). Managing administrative aspects of corporate citizenship activities, including data collection, tracking and reporting. Building relationships with community and charitable organizations, representing VHA. Overseeing and administering VHA’s Corporate Contributions program. Leading business communications, including some media relations, in developing and publicizing community initiatives and program outcomes. Promoting employee engagement on boards and in the community. Managing outside consultant and/or PR agency support.



Requirements


·  Knowledge about how VHA family of companies function; understands cultures of the companies; sensitive to how people and organizations function


·  Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership of VHA, Novation and Provista


·  Leverages networks to get things accomplished


·  Strong project management, organizational and team building skills essential.


·  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines working across multiple businesses and functions.


·  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; communicates information concisely and strategically.


·  Creates new ideas and concepts independently, challenges the status quo.


·  Experience managing corporate contributions a plus, but not required.


·  Computer savvy, with high proficiency using various applications including Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
