The candidate is responsible for ensuring that project delivery objectives are achieved in accordance with established business goals and requirements. Candidate must posses the ability to manage full life cycle software development, working with both in-house and outsourced development teams. Candidate must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of software project management principles and processes, including a proven ability to successfully deliver end-product by employing leading project management methodologies. The successful candidate will be technically proficient, detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions oriented. This position requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills. Candidates must have the ability to adapt and respond to a changing situation quickly
Overall Responsibilities:
Ensuring that control functions continue to work effectively Planning the work of the department & deployment of resources Securing resourcesTraining, development & performance appraisal/managementQuality assurance of PMO servicesMaintenance/enhancement of procedures, tools etc.Support to project-related business processes (e.g. work planning & prioritization)Establish & maintain regular reporting cycleAdvising Project Managers particularly with management plans and cost plansCoaching PMs and Project ControllersEnsuring that control functions continue to work effectivelyEnsuring that control functions continue to work effectivelySetting up Project Control functions with PMs and Project Controllers
Qualifications: 10+ years of successful Project Management Experience 5+ years of authoring technical requirements documentation BA/BS or equivalent Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degrees a plus5 + years of technical project management experience with 3+ years in a senior role with ultimate project responsibilityProven experience managing projects where development is wholly or partially outsourced (offshore) History of managing multiple simultaneous projectsAbility to define project management processes, tools and templates as requiredStrong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills requiredExtensive experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, Project requiredExperience with source and change management tools, problem tracking systems (Remedy), development IDEs, and automated testing systems preferred
