Director of Catering

Job Purpose:

Pleases members/member guests by promoting, selling, and providing outstanding and responsive catering experiences. Organizes



Duties:

* Accomplishes catering services with full responsibility of all suppport staff performing various duties.



* Achieves catering services operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to functional budgets; preparing and completing action plans; works closely with Executive Chef in creation of catering menus.



* Builds and maintains rapport with membership.



* Maintains safe, secure, legal, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation and quality of food preparation and service standards and procedures.



* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

* Instrumental in formulating annual department budget and meeting goals throughout year according to guidelines. Responsible for input to the management of an annual operational budget of $ 2 million. 

* Responsible for hands-on service work when needed.

* Prepares payroll, invoices, labor and other like reports. Formats and prepares complex documents, reports, which require the use of specialized software.

* Previous catering and/or high-end banquet service experience preferred.

* Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

* Familiarity with POS systems.

* Ability to work with diverse workforce.

* Knowledge and/or experience with union contracts a plus.
