Director of Creative Services

Democracy Data & Communications (DDC) is currently seeking a Creative Director to lead our team of writers and designers and the creative direction of our various projects and campaigns.

 

As Creative Director, you will drive creative strategy to develop and produce quality creative solutions that meet client objectives as well as internal marketing goals.  You will be responsible for managing a team of internal creative professionals as well as a growing freelance network of copywriters and designers.  You will serve as creative project lead on a variety of client projects, including broad scale communications programs, online advertising campaigns, website design, print collateral, direct mail and email campaigns, as well as organizational marketing efforts.

 

Responsibilities:Works closely with clients and project teams to assess creative needs and make design recommendations; conceptualize, guide, and explain creative goals and their relationship to project design. Coordinate internal brainstorming sessions and review all departmental concepts and work Manage and maintain quality and control of creative product Hands-on writing and/or art direction when necessary Manage the daily work and performance of a team of five creative professionals Mentoring of creative staff on issues of client relations, design, user interfaces, information design, interactive design, current technology, documentation and production coordination. Foster creative leadership and standards for design team Participate in new business development efforts/presentations and current client meetings Support sales and client service up-sell/cross-sell of creative services

 

Qualifications:

 Minimum 6 years of progressive professional experience including proven management experience. Must possess a deep understanding in related creative elements: design, interactive development, copywriting and content strategy Ability to handle multiple projects under deadline in a fast-paced environment Outstanding communication skills, with experience presenting to all levels of clients and co-workers Excellent analytical, process-oriented, and writing skills Excellent collaboration, people management and coaching skills Proficiency or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (including Macromedia applications), QuarkXPress, MS Office, web standards and HTML
