Director of Investment Accounting

Director of Investment Accounting opening in New York. Leads and manages the investment accounting for all group companies delivering service in an efficient and cost effective manner.Responsibilities: leads and directly manages a centralized team of three resources; directs and has immediate responsibility for the maintenance of the general ledger and supporting accounting records for all investment accounts, including the complete, accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of these accounts. These responsibilities relate to multiple legal entities and the accounting for securities, bonds and stocks, and limited partnerships; all related quarterly and annual statutory and investment filings for Life Insurance, Property & Casualty and Pension funds, including schedule D; interpreting the financial results for approximately 200 private equity, real estate and specialized strategies limited partnership and prepare consolidated results for quarterly & annual financial reporting. Track all capital contributions and distributions; directs and has immediate responsibility for all investment accounting practices and policies; leads the establishment of and has direct responsibility for customer service levels; establishes and maintains a strong internal control environment; leads reengineering of Investment Accounting processes; directs all required Investment Accounting activities to comply with tax reporting requirements; manages internal and external audit reviews and requests. Experience of Oracle Financials and of CAMRA & Crystal reporting. BAB.S in Finance or Accounting; advanced degree preferred, but not necessary; 3 - 5 years supervisory experience. Salary $80-98K.
