Editor (Assistant or Associate Level)

The Position

Assistant/Associate Editor - Responsibilities include generating original content, updating and maintaining Web sites and electronic newsletters, as well as assisting with duties as needed on print publications.


RequirementsMinimum two years experience in writing and editing, producing original content, updating and maintaining Web sites and electronic newsletters (applicable BA degree preferred) Demonstrated expertise in basic formatting (HTML, etc.) for electronic publishing a plusAble to embrace industry and ferret out important news stories Evidence of excellent writing and proofreading abilities Passion for news gathering and research Background/interest in automotive aftermarket preferredExperience in print publications preferred Self-motivated and able to meet tight deadlines while handling multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication skills – able to professionally interface with key industry contacts and figures for editorial content Outstanding judgment involving editorial content, advertisers and industry relations Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint Experience with InCopy is a plus Some travel required to industry trade showsDigital photography experience a plus Follow internal company policies and procedures No relocation available


Duties Include Write, edit stories, proofread and participate in story planning News reporting and conducting interviews Edit and/or create content for custom e-newslettersDaily Web news updates Produce original news and cross-purpose Web news for print publication Create Web polls and other products that cross-brand Web and print publicationsTrade show participation, travel and coverage as needed Perform photography duties as needed Additional duties/responsibilities as determined by management
