Enterprise Web Architect

Tampa-based start up, developing Web Portal for the medical manufacturing industry, seeks an Enterprise Web Architect to inform, advise and consult with founder on information system technologies, functionality, costs, benefits, and implementation requirements.  This position is a new hire for a company and will report directly to the founder. It requires a combination of creative, editorial, web, technology and business management skills.  You will manage design team, editorial team, and work with the web development firm to lead the development of best-in-class performance websites that are well written, effective, and profitable.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Define and document features, functionality, content requirements, and detailed plans for multiple websitesConduct detailed competitive/comparative analysis of competitor and partner websites to determine the best optimal strategy to maximize ROI Analyze the technology and resource needs and confer with management and development to plan and assess feasibility of new websitesDevelop a business case for new websites as well as current site upgrades including cost estimates, schedules, and revenue forecastsWork with marketing to develop the marketing plan and forecast for new websites and expansionsWebsite Design and Information ArchitectureUnderstand the data and work with development to optimize content organizationContribute to the design and user-interface of multiple websitesDetermine how to organize and present product information in a clear and effective mannerLead the planning, direction, and coordination of content and architectureWork with the website Development team and Marketing on the development of websites - lead team meetings and act as the overall project managerUse creativity and a high degree of technical and professional judgment in order to resolve design and technical challengesProduce system solutions and high level technical designs to meet identified business requirements. Solutions must incorporate scalability, availability, speed, security, and maintainability characteristics. Risks, assumptions, and costs for solutions.Analyze and design architectural improvements to core technologies to improve performance, capacity, and scalability of websites. Produce business case to support these improvements.Technically evaluate all software development projects that support the enterprise. Establish guidelines for acceptance and technical review of all design documents with sign-off authority.Assist clients and internal employees in adopting new infrastructure and technologies. Provide documentation, training and mentoring.On occasion, assist in production escalations and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications:Extensive experience building and architecting high traffic internet sites serving 5-25 million+ requests per day or similar high transaction volume distributed systems5+ years experience development experience with Microsoft platformExtensive experience implementing complex system integrations utilizing messaging and HTTPExperience tuning server side applications and databases, i.e. distributed cachesExperience architecting highly-available, failure resistant/tolerant internet scale systems

Desired Qualifications:Experience in developing event-driven and service-oriented architectures (SOA)Experience with web services, specifically security and identity managementExperience with various enterprise messaging technologiesExperience with Enterprise Service Bus solutionsExperience building/integrating with Web content management systemsExperience in e-commerce, commercial supply chain, trading partner, logistics management, marketing, and/or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
