TIMING:  June 16 - August 24

 

HOME BASE MARKET:  Los Angeles, CA

 

TOURING MARKETS:  Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara,

Riverside, Las Vegas

 

POSITION PROFILE:  Requesting qualified Event Marketing Assistant

Tour Manager to serve as Brand Ambassador for well-known retailer. 

Selected candidate will be hired as an Independent Contractor during the

promotional period.  He/she will travel with a Tour Manager via wrapped

truck (16’), traveling to/from event locations to execute the sampling/

consumer promotion initiative.  Must be out-going, enthusiastic and a self-

motivator.  Must have minimum 3 years tour management/event

experience with consumer product goods, as well as experience working/

interacting with retail management and the public (adults/children).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Assistant Tour Manager will travel with Tour

Manager to pre-determined locations to execute retail parking lot events

centered around the retailer’s Olympic sponsorship.

 

The Assistant Tour Manager will be responsible for supporting the Tour

Manager in execution of all touring and event aspects including:  event

management, overall set-up/tear-down of display area (tents, signage,

sports obstacle course, etc.); product sampling; registration with consumer

sweepstakes; interaction with retail clients; management of local part-time

staffers; inventory and asset  management. 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Reside in or directly around the home base market

• Minimum 3 years tour/event marketing experience for consumer product goods company and/or retailer

• Experience in retail event executions

• History of working with all levels of management personnel

–  Prior history in working with the media is a plus, but not required

• Experience managing multiple part-time staff

• Must possess good judgment and capability to make quick decisions

• Ability to work independently

• Valid driver’s license / clean driving record

• Lift up to 75 lbs.

• Availability during full contract term and training session

 

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

• Base salary

• Per diem (events outside Los Angeles DMA only)
