Events & PR Specialist - Asian Marketing

We’re looking for an Events and Public Relations Specialist who will: Manage event venders and partners to insure effective planning and execution of events according to budget. Identify and recommend appropriate project co-op, partnership/sponsorship opportunities or integrated communications projects. Seek promotional opportunities ranging from events and cross-promotions with relevant consumer brands to barter programs with media partners. Draft press releases and PR/Event reports, POV, proposals, etc. Work with PR/Event Manager, Account Executives, Creative/Production team, and Media team and to develop an annual PR/event/show schedule based on client objectives, marketplace conditions and industry trends that produce measurable results. Develop a network of community connections among national and community-based organizations. Represent clients at press conference, press events and marketing events. Administrative tasks such as status meetings, managing project files, timesheets, invoices, estimates, etc.

Required skills and experience: 3 + years experience in consumer events or PR or 5+ years experience in a related field working with major brands and clients. Knowledge/interest in the Asian culture, market, media or community relations.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Energetic, creative, dynamic and innovative thinker. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills; detail-oriented. Willing to travel and work weekends. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Photoshop or other graphic software a plus. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
