DescriptionDescription This position is accountable for teaming with sales executives to meet or exceed the retention and profitable revenue growth objectives for a specific list of target accounts and prospects. This will be accomplished through assistance in selling targeted advertising programs, coordinating and growing the business of existing customers and new prospects of Valassis as assigned by their Field Sales Director. In addition, this includes participation in strategic development, tactical implementation, first point of client contact, problem solving and comprehensive and strategic account management to free reps from these tasks to increase strategic selling activity. Drive attainment of sales office revenue goals through dedicated focus on assigned customer base. Strengthen client relationships by enhancing Valassis' credibility and trust through service as primary customer sales contact for day-to-day matters. Bring value to the Sales team through active participation in strategic account planning process and assistance in development/preparation of Client Business Reviews. Duties include, but are not limited to; solution-idea generation, client/industry research, the on-going management (i.e. updating and fine tuning) of the “Strategic Blueprint” document, monitoring of Sales team execution against plans and active participation in Sales office reviews. Provide marketing support to Sales team including, but not limited to, client-needs analysis, identification and development of opportunities, marketing analysis, competitive analysis, client/industry research, solution development, sales presentation development, new product testing and analysis, use of consumer sourcing models, partnering with spec artists for ad creation, client communication and ad hoc projects. Act as a liaison between Sales team and cross functional partners including, but not limited to client-problem resolution, cross functional communication, management of NRC/database projects, job-deferral management, QCT interaction and process improvement to enhance overall customer service and minimize client credits. Active participation and input into client-contract and on-going “deal” development duties shall include, but are not limited to, communication with finance regarding concept development and deal structure.Required SkillsRequired Skills• Sales/Marketing background with experience in developing and executing solid account management strategies with clients.• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience• 2 Years successful sales experience with strong selling skills• PC Literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), GroupWise, Oracle• Capable of acquiring a thorough knowledge of internal workings of Valassis• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Strong negotiation and leadership skills• Excellent cross functional team skills• Excellent problem-solving skills• Analytical mind set• Detail oriented• Ability to think strategically• Innovative decision making skills
