Finance/Accounting Manager Summary

Global Public Relations firm in DC seeks new Finance/Accounting Manager for it’s government relations subsidiary.

The position supports the Practice Business Management team and is dedicated to managing finances for the sub. This individual will work with Corporate Finance team and manage the day-to-day aspects for sub, including client billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, forecasting, budgeting.

Finance/Accounting Manager ResponsibilitiesReview and supervise monthly client billing and expenses using acceptable financial accounting principles and company policies.Establish relationships with clients accounts payable staff and resolves issues relating to A/R. Work closely with the Office Manager to process contracts. Prepare financial reports, month-end close, journal entries and financial statements. Prepare annual budgets and monitor budgets for clients. Serve as a resource for junior accounting staff on issues related to company policy and Oracle-related issues. Participate in internal business team meetings and issues reports as appropriate. Support Finance team and sub as necessary.

 


Essential Finance/Accounting Manager Skills & Characteristics BS in Accounting and/or Finance Strong analytical skills with a solid background in accounting and/or finance 4-7 years public or private experience required High level of proficiency in Microsoft ExcelProficient in PowerPoint and WordOracle background is a plus

Attributes Analytical thinker with a strong understanding of accounting principles Strong communicator with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management Strong oral and written communication skills Responsible, self-starter/motivator
