Freelance Interactive Designer

 Our client is currently reviewing portfolios of qualified interactive designers. You will work with teams to create complex interactive experiences for web interfaces, applications and software. The Designer is responsible for leading Digital Media projects and understanding a client’s business and communication goals, and translating them into unique creative solutions. You will take an active, hands-on role in creating work with team members, providing inspiration to other designers, and working with information architects and technologists to implement designs of the highest standard. This important role requires broad knowledge and advanced skills in visual design, information architecture, user interface, and a solid understanding of enabling technologies.

You will be responsible for the development of innovative navigation systems, interface designs, and screen or page layouts for software, application, web sites, and other interactive media. You will push the state-of-the-art with every creation and thrive in our fast-paced studio. You will apply your creative mind to intelligently solve complex challenge, and have an ability to simplify complexity.

You should have 3 - 5 years of design experience with 2 – 3 of those years designing for interactive media. You should also have strong visualization and prototyping skills, comfort working in multidisciplinary teams and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be comfortable collaborating virtually with teams all over the world, and in some cases traveling abroad for short periods of time to support design challenges in our other studios, as well.

•?At least 2 – 3 years of recent experience in interactive, internet design.
•?Expert Flash experience preferred.
•?Special consideration for candidates with offline communication design experience in addition to the interactive credentials.
•?Must understand user behavior and its affect on design choices.
•?Meticulous attention to details, yet able to quickly assess and communicate design direction.
•?Willingness to take a hands-on role in crafting and directing design solutions.
•?Command of leading design software (e.g., Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc).
•?Solid understanding of practical benefits and constraints of internet technologies, and how to best design breakthrough experiences within specific constraints.
•?Self-motivated, good communicator, follows direction and can identify when to step up and lead, thrive in multidisciplinary teams, yet produce conceptual solutions independently if needed.
•?Demonstrate ability to manage client, team and own expectations to deliver profound design solutions within budget and time constraints.
•?Up to 10% travel internationally.
