Intercommunity Action, Inc. - Interac - is a private, not for profit corporation established in 1969 to meet the human services needs of the residents of the Andorra, Roxborough, Manayunk, Wissahickon, East Falls and Nicetown neighborhoods of Northwest Philadelphia.  Most of Interac's services are located in these neighborhoods, but today, Interac serves residents of other parts of Philadelphia and the suburban counties as well.



Interac's more than 400 staff provide a wide variety of programs that focus on our mission of providing "exemplary services in the areas of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Aging, for the purpose of assisting people to achieve their maximum potential and enhancing their quality of life"  More than two dozen programs - residential, outpatient, day services, and case management - have been developed to carry out this mission.

We are currently looking for a full-time Development Director.

The Development Director is responsible for the coordination of all fund raising activities of Intercommunity Action.  The Development Director works with the Chief Executive Officer and the Directors of the Aging, Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilites divisions to identify funding needs, and is responsible for identifying potential sources of needed funds.  The Development Director assumes leadership in fund raising and activities of Interac, working with the Board of Directors when indicated.

REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus 5 years substantive experience in fundraising and public relations, or a Masters degree in a relevant field plus 4 years experience. Superior writing and verbal skillsComputer literacy and familiarity with donor management softwareSubstantial knowledge of foundations and a history of obtaining foundation and/or corporation grantsDesire to work to advance the Agency's Mission and meet the needs of seniors and those with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.
