General Accounting Retirement Programs and Services AVP opening in New York. Leads and manages the centralized transactional accounting for the retirement programs & services, investments and publishing businesses, delivering world-class service in an efficient and cost effective manner. Directly supervises a team of six accountants with varying levels of experience and responsibilities: leads and manages a centralized accounting team of approximately six resources; prepares and/or reviews all annual performance evaluations for this team; prepares and/or reviews all annual goals and objectives for these resources and the assessed performance of these goals and objectives; identifies training needs of these resources and recommends and assists in the on-going development of individual training plans; provides day-to-day guidance/assistance to the Retirement Programs & Services Accounting team to ultimately deliver the goals and objectives of the team; directs and has immediate responsibility for the maintenance of the general ledgers for the Retirement Programs & Services and Publishing businesses and the supporting accounting records, including the complete, accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of all transactional accounting; timely finalization of standard monthly management reports. Certified Public Accountant, or equivalent, and external or internal audit experience. Experienced in all aspects of accounting and accounting management in the pension and investment industries, such as would be acquired with ten or more years in accounting and management positions. Experience in publishing industry is a plus. Salary $open.
