Graphic Artist Designer - $45K to $55K - Los Angeles (ENCINO) Calif.

This is a full-time position, working in our Encino, California offices -- Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

 

This is a high profile opportunity for a position where your work will be viewed by millions of people each month. Please note that this is NOT an entry-level position or a job for beginners.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for working the in-house creative services unit responsible for producing electronic art and web-based images daily for ECT News Network’s very popular five online news publications.  Duties also include print design, creation of production media, press kits and marketing collateral, letterhead and article reprints.  An eye for detail and the intellect to conduct speedy and accurate research are critical abilities needed to succeed in this position, along with a solid sense of organization.

 

The ideal candidate for this position has a genuine interest in the artistic presentation of the companies, people and trends that drive the tech industry.  The ability to present corporate culture as an art form is a must. Web and multimedia experience are required, as are a diverse portfolio and solid references.  A demonstrated record of creating cutting-edge and original corporate designs on tight deadlines is essential.

 

Candidates must be prepared to take specific design direction from the CCO and then work independently on deadlines with a ‘can do’ attitude to complete multiple projects, implement creative concepts and ideas, and always be willing to make multiple revisions and progress without allowing their ego to hinder the production process. You must be able to create professional and finished electronic art quickly and efficiently in a newsroom environment. Intelligence, enthusiasm, a flexible nature and a good sense of humor will help pave the way to success in this position. 

 

Core Responsibilities Include:Designing and producing multiple original electronic graphic images, sized 172x124 pixels, which accompany our daily stories on an ongoing basis;Logically archiving all media and assets as directed;Design & layout of corporate letterhead; Print & electronic marketing materials.Creation of banner ads and logos;Assisting with web design.

 

Expert-level computer skills are required with CS3, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Image Ready, Go Live, Acrobat, Flash, Quark and all Web browsers.  Advanced-level computer skills and are required with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
