Graphic Design Specialist

Orchard Supply Hardware is one of California’s largest hardware and garden retail chains. The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for managing multiple graphic projects within the established scope, quality, time and cost of each project. He/she is also responsible for developing visually engaging in-store printed collateral material to support OSH brand initiatives.Qualifications*Use design theory, style guides and corporate branding to design creative campaigns.*Work cross-functionally with various internal departments to conceptualize, create and deliver graphic campaigns at retail. *Be able to pitch thoughts and design ideas on projects to various internal associates including senior management.*Work directly with Visual Merchandising and buyers to develop and adapt creative ideas and campaigns to store environments.*Present multiple creative solutions and concepts per project to Creative Services team.*Source, quote, negotiate pricing and project manage all design projects from concept to production, followed by communication to the field.*Reviews, approves and verifies validity and accuracy of invoices submitted by vendors against contract parameters. *Attend press checks and give design approvals.*Collaborate with others in a team environment, manage schedules and meet assigned deadlines.*Assist in design of graphics when projects overflow from other designers.*Travel to new stores to ensure graphics are complete prior to new store opening.*Bachelor s degree in Graphic Design with an emphasis in print production and branding or equivalent. (Recent college graduates with experience designing print media.)*Experience designing and creating graphic layouts for various print collateral at retail.*Solid working knowledge of desktop publishing in a Macintosh operating system utilizing current versions of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign*Understanding and experience with typography, page layout, composition and printing*Strong organizational skills that include prioritizing and time management*Strong 2D and 3D design/art direction ability.*Effective presentational skills.BenefitsIn addition to an outstanding career potential we offer a competitive compensation and benefit package including health, dental, matching 401(k) and employee discount.
