Job Description HR/Benefits Assistant Job Description This position provides administrative support for the Human Resources Department in a confidential manner. Duties include examining and verifying employee information processed by the human resources system and processing paperwork. Performs data entry for employment related changes into HRMS. Communicates with office managers and other management staff related to employment processes. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. Requires knowledge of internal human resource polices and procedures. Responsibilities Performs data entry and maintains data integrity of the HR information system. Audits forms, examines and submits questionable items to Benefit Advisors and/or Manager. Performs administrative work related to the administration the HR and Benefits data at a division level (mail, scanning, fax, copying, filing, record keeping) Communicates with and supports office managers and all division employees with regard to HRMS data processing. Assists in ongoing employee communications and/or distribution of materials such as summary plan descriptions, enrollment packets, COBRA, etc. Coordinates with division Payroll on applicable processing issues related to HR and/or benefits. Responds to Verification of Employment requests, and other human resource or benefit programs as applicable. Administers the process for exiting employees. Participates in other projects as needed. Qualifications 1-2 years office experience, Human Resources and/or Benefits a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MSOutlook, MSWord, MSExcel, PowerPoint). Excellent interpersonal skills, in person and on the telephone. Strong organizational/time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to continuously speak and hear detailed or important information and instruction. Demonstrates good judgment skills, and decision making abilities. Ability to prioritize and work with several assignments or projects simultaneously. Solid and considerate team member. Must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy related to information and data handled. Knowledge of keyboarding or data entry procedures. PeopleSoft database experience a plus.
