HR Director - help shape future of HR for flagship properties of major US media corporation

Join a dynamic leadership team of HR professionals in shaping the future for Freedom Newspapers, Inc, a division of Freedom Communications with a workforce of 5,500+ associates in over 40 locations across the US. The principal client for this role, Orange County Register Communications, Inc, is the flagship media and entertainment property of Freedom Communications, Inc. You'll serve as a key member of the division HR leadership team in a diverse and high profile role that requires both the ability to influence and impact broad division strategy as well as the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved with the day-to-day issues on the front lines.

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in HR management and/or generalist roles, with experience serving a multi-site environment. We're looking for a professional with the ability to think globally, assess needs quickly, and recommend and drive appropriate solutions. You must have the ability to earn trust, build relationships at all levels of an organization, work through influence, and effectively manage multiple priorities. A solid background as a generalist with a successful track record in employee and labor relations, recruitment and retention, coaching and training, and organizational development is a must for this role.

The Newspaper Division is part of Freedom Communications, Inc., a privately owned, diverse media company of newspapers, broadcast television stations and interactive media businesses. The company publishes more than 70 news publications with a combined circulation of more than one million subscribers. The broadcast division includes eight television stations including five CBS and three ABC network affiliates.
