The Senior Advertising Copywriter is responsible for developing ad concepts in partnership with the art directors. He or she is also responsible for writing copy for a variety of communications materials, including print advertisements, sales materials, direct mail, patient brochures, newsletters, educational CD-ROMs, Web sites, HTML emails, and video and audio scripts, among others. The Advertising Copywriter must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, creative talent, and knowledge of the healthcare industry. This is an ideal position for a seasoned copywriter who is looking for growth opportunities. Strong conceptual thinker. Develops headline/graphic concepts for advertisements in collaboration with graphic artist. Excellent writer. Develops copy for a broad range of materials aimed primarily at professional audiences (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, veterinarians, etc.) but also some B2B. Strategic and articulate. Represents copy department at client meetings upon request. Flexible. Proofreads and edits written materials upon request. Good interpersonal skills. Works under the supervision of the Creative Director, Copy, and interacts regularly with most agency staff, including art directors, proofreaders, and account and administrative staff. Strong team player. Works closely, efficiently, and synergistically with other copy, art, and account staff to deliver a high-quality creative product. Prioritizes writing assignments to assure that projects are completed according to job timelines. Shares responsibility for estimating accurately, working efficiently, and bringing projects in on budget. Writes a variety of internal materials in addition to client materials. Contributes to workflow process improvement initiatives.Other Requirements: BA or equivalent with at least 10 years' relevant experience. Experience writing in a healthcare promotion environment, e.g., pharmaceutical, animal health, or biotech ad agency, in-house agency or marketing communications department at pharmaceutical or biotech company. Demonstrated creative talent; innovative thinker. Ability to understand and write about complex technical and/or scientific information. Self-motivated team player able to work smoothly with others. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
