Imaging Specialist

Mesmerize Studios, a Division of SK+G advertising agency, is seeking an Imaging Specialist.  Our agency is 150+ employees and growing.  We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits (including 3 weeks vacation) and a creative work environment.  This position reports to Director of Art Buying/Agency Producer.

 

Department Description:

Digital Imaging handles jobs specializing in the generation, processing, manipulation and adjustment of graphic images, utilizing advanced techniques, software and tools. The department is a conduit for Creative and Art Directors’ ideas, translating them into imagery or adjusting images for their graphic usage.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Specifically, responsibilities for the Imaging Specialist position include:

· Generating and manipulating graphic images utilizing advanced techniques, software and tools.

· Consults with Creative and Art directors, Art buyers and Photographers to ensure the success of an imaging endeavor.

· Upon completion of a consulting session, oversees the estimation and quotation process for the imaging work requested.

· Possesses a working knowledge of post-agency imaging reproduction and the capability to foresee and correct for accurate reproduction.

· Possesses strong artistic ability and technical skills, as well as, the initiative and capability to take on and accomplish difficult artistic goals in regards to imaging.

· Handles day-to-day maintenance of the Imaging Department.

· Trains and oversees Imaging Artists in order to progress their skill level and knowledge of advanced imaging techniques.

· Trains employees and oversees the operation and fine-tuning of both basic and advanced settings for hardware- or software-based PostScript RIP S.W.O.P proofing system. Responsible for producing and reviewing proofs.Inventories, tracks and orders supplies.Responsible for overseeing the delivery of daily proofing logs to Accounting.

Job Requirements:

Possessing strong artistic ability and technical skills, with an emphasis on expertise in Photoshop, accessing files from clients, anticipating, planning and correcting any problems, operating and fine-tuning both basic and advanced settings for hardware-or software-based PostScript RIPs, directing the inventory, tracking and ordering of supplies and equipment relevant to the department, performing and directing a variety of clerical tasks such as job tracking, invoicing, file organization and producing and reviewing proofs.

Must have an eye for color and an attention to detail; as well as, knowledge of the advertising industry, color workflow environments, traditional art, photography, printing processes, post-agency reproduction, pre-flight software and design applications such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.


A great deal of creativity and latitude is expected.  Ideal candidate will perform well under pressure and troubleshoot files, software and hardware.
