International Sourcing Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Oversees the International Sourcing Department.  Leads and supports the day-to-day business of this group.  Provides overall direction and strategy on company and department initiatives and facilitates the achievement of company and departmental goals.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

 Monitor each team member’s productivity and identify areas for individual growthProvide regular feedback to team members and conduct performance reviews as directed by company policyfacilitate training and orientationAssign job responsibilities and projects to team members  - realign when necessaryImplement strategies to improve departmental productivity and efficiencyAssure overseas factory compliance with company’s Social and Safety PoliciesActive in the development of company purchasing initiaves to integrate international purchasing capabiltites into current and future purchasing functions.Implement company and client (where applicable) cost-savings ideasNegotiate terms, rebates, pricing and other with overseas preferred suppliersAct as overseas vendor liaison to communicate company initiativesObtain information on global current events as pertains to international sourcingAttend overseas tradeshows as requiredSome domestic or overseas travel may be requiredActive involvement in the complete supplychain including establishing relations and programs with freight forwarders, steamship lines, and NVOCC companies.Active involvement in understanding and monitoring of international tarrifs, quotas, and duties as apply to company and client products and programs.Active in the implementation and ongoing administration of SGS QC and social complance programs and needed for company and  clients.Active in the concept design and ongoing administration of a company import supplier information network, to be used as an internat resource to locate products that can be sourced internationally.

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS (Education and experience) Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, International Business, or Purchasing or Equivalent Work ExperienceKnowledge of Microsoft programs required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Promotional Products Industry experience preferredSales experience a plus
