Life Actuarial Assistant

Life Actuarial Assistant opening in New Jersey. Responsible for life insurance policyholder taxation for administration and illustration systems for the non-qualified benefits business. In addition, this person acts as a resource to the Marketing and Client Services areas for policyholder tax-related issues; support the daily activities of the Illustration project manager, assisting with regression testing, as well as user-acceptance testing; verify modified endowment contract (MEC) status for policies in question for Marketing and Plan Servicing areas; provide recommendations on how to bring the policies in question into compliance within the allowable time frame; compile information required for any MEC remediation submissions to the IRS and assist the Law Department in finalizing the submission with the IRS and prepare summaries reflecting penalty amounts to be paid; make recommendations for corrections of policies that have been remediated by the IRS; perform regression testing for enhancements to the illustration system; adjust scripts as needed due to system changes/enhancements; verify regression outputs; support Vantage (administration system) enhancements, define tax formulas, provide specifications for new coding and products, and verify system output; perform tax reconciliations in Vantage for fixed defects; coordinate tax calculations between Illustration and Administration systems; report defects/enhancements as needed, provide specifications and test system changes to be able to sign-off that defect/enhancement has been made correctly; provide tax training to various units on an as-needed basis; provide valid tax information for downloads to the illustration system when needed. Minimum of 4 years of work experience in an actuarial role. Prefer student not focused on exams, but who has already passed Interest Theory and Life Contingencies (Financial Mathematics (FM) and Actuarial Models (MLC) exams); Knowledge of Universal Life products a plus preferred.
