The Sr. Design Engineer is responsible for developing and applying reliable engineering methods, theories, and research techniques, in the investigation and solution of technical problems. These problems can be mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or hydraulic in nature. You will plan technical projects in the process, design, and/or development of Genie products. Specific areas of focus include machined parts, plasma/laser cut steel parts, formings, weldments, injection-molded parts, electrical control systems, and hydraulic lift/drive systems. You will be responsible for developing new concepts from initial design to market release. Designs are documented by creating models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks; and then analyzed using traditional methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. Design activities are coordinated with the purchasing group to ensure delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines. B.S. Mechanical Engineering 8+ years related experience Excellent CAD skills, and proficient in Excel and Word Ability to organize and sequence work associated with complex designs Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated team player qualities Ability to work independently with little or no supervision Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvement Commitment to Lean Manufacturing Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks Experience with hydraulic/electrical control systems Experience with microprocessor based control systems Systems experience - includes overall controls as well as component details Structural analysis including FEA If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=489927-3-773
