MEDIA RELATIONS SPECIALIST - DOWNTOWN DAYTON

 

Edward Howard, one of the nation’s leading public relations firms, is currently seeking a savvy media relations professional to join our team of senior public relations professionals in our downtown Dayton, Ohio office location as an Account Executive. This person will be exposed to and will potentially work on a broad base of client accounts in the healthcare, consumer and retail, industrial and manufacturing, civic and economic development, biotech and technology and/or financial services and insurance industries.

 

REQUIREMENTS

»  Four-year degree in public relations or related field

»  Minimum 2 years of full-time public relations experience, agency experience preferred

»  Superior media relations skills and strong relationships with the media

»  Exceptional written and oral communication skills

»  Ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines and juggle multiple projects in a fast paced environment

»  Knowledge of and experience with social media a plus

»  Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

»  Conduct media relations efforts, including developing strong relationships with the media, media pitching to various groups on a broad variety of issues and media list development

»  Develop and maintain contact lists, media lists and databases

»  Write press releases, pitch letters and other press materials

»  Generate new ideas and media leads

»  Generate fresh ideas for social media usage in the PR industry

»  Assist in account management
