Manager, Global Compensation

The Global Compensation Department manages the design and implementation of corporate executive compensation programs both at Interpublic corporate and Interpbulic agencies. 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

 

Must be practical, flexible, both tactical and strategic and able to operate at a conceptual level as well as be a “hands-on doer”.  Ease with ambiguity is an important trait as well as the ability to be comfortable in a culture of smart, driven, creative people with a broad range of interests, but where business discipline and specific methodologies may not be at the forefront. This person must be approachable, thoughtful, and able to teach others effectively.

 

The ability to embrace the challenge of building talent management tools and programs for corporate and agency employees is also important.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key relationships include the HR leadership team, Agency HR and/or Compensation heads, IPG senior management, HR and Compensation Committees.

 

This role will have accountability for:

 The design, project planning and facilitation of proposed global equity compensation plans working closely with the Tax, Legal, Human Resources and Finance departments. Annual analysis and reporting of equity compensation competitor benchmarking.  Managing all aspects of Equity Compensation systems and vendor products. Managing client relationships and participant issues including communicating with employees regarding plan terms and firm policies applicable to the delivery and sale of equity awards. Helping design and drive executive salary tiers for approximately 1,500 executives Implementation of programs, processes and tools to support and drive an IPG-wide cohesive compensation strategy in an effort to attract and retain employees. Assisting  IPG senior management and agency HR leaders in creating and using high quality compensation plans, processes and systems. Rolling out new incentive plans and helping drive processes for both annual and long term programs.  This includes all levels of communication and/or education from one-on-one discussions of new programs or specific plans with senior managers to broad-scale pragmatic communications to large scale employee bases.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field.  M.B.A. preferred.

· Minimum five years of professional experience with a focus on compensation design and implementation. Global compensation and or consulting experience are a strong plus.

· Proven track record of managing others.

·Familiarity with reviewing and summarizing regulatory documents (10k, 8K, Proxy) and project facilitation.

· Strong oral and written communications skills.

· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to approach projects strategically and manage to completion.  Strong internal consulting and relationship building skills.  Experience working in a dynamic, changing environment where there is a “star” culture and compensation is seen  as a way to drive change.
