The Manager is responsible for establishing policies, procedures, and standards for production hardware, software and support. The Manager directs the activities of the Production Engineering, Operations and legacy systems support areas. These areas provide critical 24x7x365 operational, engineering and end user support to the organization.Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:* Develops & ensures compliance of departmental specifications, policies, and standards to guide the deployment and operational support of systems * Analyzes the Company's system support needs* Meets with various hardware, software and resourcing company representatives * Develops written recommendations regarding the most efficient and cost-effective operational support solutions* Assists in preparing and managing both project and departmental budgets* Manages and develops the 24x7 Engineering and Operations support teams to ensure the consistent operations of systems through efficient and effective monitoring, operation and level 1 trouble-shooting of computer hardware, software and related systems * Responds to change requests as required* Develops effective global support processes * Manages the engineering support arrangements for legacy systems* Works closely with the Data Center Manager, Systems and Network Engineering, Production Control and other areas of IT to ensure the efficient and dependable operation of the computer systems* Reviews and approves project plans for the installation and testing of computer hardware and system software* Participates in and supports application development projects by recommending and implementing infrastructure support solutions required for the project * Responsible for ensuring proper procedure, handling and inventory management of backup and data archival media such as tape, including offsite storage, management of inventories and development of inventory audit and compliance processes* Coordinates hardware repair* Maintains vendor maintenance and support contracts* Prepares weekly status reports regarding the status of projects and service level achievements Outlines any discrepancies with delivery of projects and/or agreed to service levels and recommends corrective actions where appropriate* Counsels and assists the Executive Director of IT Operations, Production Operations and other areas of IT regarding technical matters as required* Serves as a project manager and advisor within the IT Operations department* Serves as liaison to Systems and Network Engineering, and other IT organizationsQualifications:Basic qualifications:* Minimum 7 years of experience in computer use and technology and/or management of technical personnel * Minimum 5 years of experience management of a large IT operations environment with 500 servers supporting multiple lines of business in a 24x7 operation* A Bachelor's degree is preferredDesired skills:* Strong organizational and management skills are required * Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical computer clients and other parties* Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships among all levels of an organization* Demonstrates willingness to support team on all levels to get the job done* Experience monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting multiple types of hardware & software components associated with large computer systems and high availability environments* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams of technicians in a very dynamic environment and see the correlation of the individual items being managed and their impact on the "big picture"* Strong leading and mentoring engineering and operational support team members at varying levels of experience and skillsEligibility requirements:* Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered * Must be willing to submit to a background investigation* Must be able to show eligibility to work in the United StatesParamount Pictures is an Equal Opportunity EmployerSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: Hollywood, CAJob Number: 5213Company URL: http://www.paramount.com/careers
